🌍 "Cities are the greatest invention of humanity."

Edward Glaeser’s Triumph of the City shows how cities drive innovation, creativity, and growth. But how can we make them more equitable, livable, and resilient for the future?

🏙️ His upcoming lecture on Cities and Infrastructure at the Universität Bern on December 6th offers a great opportunity to reflect on these questions and explore how his insights align with my vision for expanding 10-Minute Neighborhoods in Switzerland and beyond.

🔑 10-Minute-Nighborhoods (10-Minuten-Nachbarschaften) bring us closer to more livable and sustainable cities. Schools, shops, restaurants, parks, and public transport are within a 10-minute walk—reducing car reliance, encouraging active lifestyles, and strengthening community ties.

🚶‍♀️ Imagine a city where people spend less time in traffic and more time walking, where housing, mobility, and green spaces are integrated into a vibrant, walkable community. By combining Glaeser’s insights with innovative concepts like 10-Minute Neighborhoods, we can shape the cities of tomorrow.

See you tomorrow in Bern!
